Firetree Solomon Islands Makira Island 75%

Firetree Chocolate was founded by industry veterans David Zulman, Martyn O'Dare, and Aidan Bishop, who have over 85 years of experience in the chocolate industry between them. They're passionate about taste, provenance, cocoa pedigree, rarity, and their island farmers - who they know by name. To create their rich volcanic chocolate, Firetree Chocolate sources all of their own cocoa from single estates on volcanic islands in the South Pacific - the ring of fire!
On the tiny island of Makira, outside of the main town there are two guest houses, a grass landing strip, a small hospital, and Lucy's cocoa farm. Here, Lucy and her all-female team grow their cocoa then combine their harvest with those of other female cocoa farmers. It is the personal, artisanal nature of the farm that ensures the distinct character of this delightful chocolate.

Firetree Chocolate was founded by industry veterans David Zulman, Martyn O'Dare, and Aidan Bishop, who have over 85 years of experience in the chocolate industry between them. The trio understands that really good chocolate starts with the farmer and their families, and finishes with a chocolate maker who recognizes that every single step of the process can shape the final mouth feel, aroma, and taste of every bar. They're passionate about taste, provenance, cocoa pedigree, rarity, and their island farmers - who they know by name. To create their rich volcanic chocolate, Firetree Chocolate sources all of their own cocoa from single estates on volcanic islands in the South Pacific - the ring of fire! Rare cocoa makes up only 0.2% of the world's cocoa beans grown today, so they're really proud that the cocoa beans they use to create such distinct and delicious flavors.
On the tiny island of Makira, outside of the main town there are two guest houses, a grass landing strip, a small hospital, and Lucy's cocoa farm. Here, Lucy and her all-female team grow their cocoa then combine their harvest with those of other female cocoa farmers. Lucy then takes everyone's cocoa up to Kirakira and loads it on a boat directly from the beach. Then it is on to the main island of Guadalcanal, where she can get an internet signal and let us know that her cocoa is ready to collect. It is the personal, artisanal nature of the farm that ensures the distinct character of this delightful chocolate.

TASTING NOTES: Soft grapefruit, raisin, and caramel.
